A study really - mucking about with the noise filter (which I used on between the channels), found you could do something like starry backgrounds... a few blurred layers later, some overlaying of midnight black (deep blue to everyone else ), other things - it all made for an intersting and rather subtle effect...

Which for me is a rare thing indeed.

Added the ship as an afterthought really - to give some idea of 'scale'.

Oh, and to play about with some more lighting effects.

Which - before anyone asks, aren't brushes...

PHOTOPLUS8 isn't that sophisticated.

So yeah - in all about ten layers of overlaying/blending to get the desired effects...

Still not sure about the nebulae though...
